What’s new in Reviso. Newest releases first.

• Fixed: authorized team members can see team-only comments when opening an archive through its review link.
• Fixed: reviewer-preview requests consistently use client visibility. Team-only notes remain hidden from guests.

Free 1.7.2. Pro remains on 1.7.0.

• Developer: added reviso_frontend_ui_enabled to hide frontend feedback, review chrome and Reviso toolbar controls where an integration needs a clear canvas. Default behaviour and access permissions are unchanged.

• New: your Reviso feedback is available as WordPress abilities on WordPress 6.9 or later.
• Tools that run abilities on your site as a signed-in WordPress user can list reviews and feedback, open a comment’s screenshot, and reply to, resolve and assign feedback. Everything runs with that user’s own permissions.
• With Reviso Pro they can also find the element a comment is pinned to and read the page’s structure.
• These abilities are not exposed over the REST API. Reviso Cloud and local AI access work as before.
• New: when feedback is resolved through an ability or an AI tool, a short note saying what fixed it can be saved on the thread as a team note. A reply can also be narrowed to a team or private note. Team notes follow the review’s sharing settings.
• Improved: AI tools can filter feedback by status and page through it. Each comment now shows who can see it, and whether it came from a team member or a client (a hint based on the author’s current account).
• Pro: element lookup also checks the page’s own Bricks header and footer templates, and says which template the element is in.
• Fixed: local AI access (application passwords) no longer shows a reply that sits under someone else’s private note, or that reply’s screenshot.

The comments panel in the Bricks builder now stays on screen wherever you put the Bricks 2.4 toolbar.

Bricks builder

• With the Bricks 2.4 toolbar moved to the left, right or bottom, the Reviso comments panel opened off-screen. It now docks beside the toolbar.
• The docked comments panel and the Bricks Structure panel now follow the browser window’s height. After you had resized the panel, making the window shorter could leave the Structure panel running past the bottom of the screen.

This update is for the free Reviso plugin only. Reviso Pro stays at 1.6.7.

AI tools now work within each person’s own WordPress permissions, private notes stay private, and AI edits are safer to undo.

AI tools and Reviso Cloud

• AI tools connected with a WordPress application password act with that person’s own rights. Changing page content needs edit rights on that page, and changing feedback needs edit rights on the page it belongs to.
• Opening a Reviso Cloud connect link no longer connects your site on its own. The Reviso Cloud tab asks you to confirm first.
• Switching Reviso Cloud off, or revoking the connection, stops settings sent from Cloud applying and refuses Cloud requests.
• AI tools no longer clear a comment’s assignee or refined instructions when a request leaves them out, and re-resolving a resolved note leaves it unchanged.

Private notes

• A private note is visible only to the person who wrote it, including on the Feedback screen, and is never sent to AI tools or Reviso Cloud.

Pro

• Undoing an AI edit no longer overwrites changes made after it, and every undo can itself be undone. Editing through AI tools needs an active Pro licence on that site.

Reviso Cloud

• Reconnecting a site without its current connection now needs the account owner’s approval by email, showing the site and any change of address.
• You can see and revoke connected AI apps under Integrations, and the Connect Claude button opens its setup from any screen.

The Reviso team

A clearer Feedback screen, dependable internal notes, and fixes for review progress and small screens.

Feedback and privacy

• The Feedback screen now puts filters and comments straight under the heading and labels who can see internal and private notes.
• New notes from the builder and internal Feedback button start internal, even after opening a client review link. Sharing remains an explicit choice.
• The internal Feedback button stays available after you open your own review link.
• Promotions and What’s New notices stay off Feedback, Reviews and Approvals.

Reviews and mobile

• Feedback in one review no longer resets the Reviewed marker in another review of the same page.
• Phone layouts keep the mode buttons, Feedback button, page list and comment panel clear of one another. The review edit screen fits a small screen.
• Reviewers only see Edit and Delete for comments they can change. Replies show who can see them.
• Scope changes ask for confirmation when coverage changes. Archive saves are all-or-nothing, and the archive database update checks each step and retries if needed.

Security

• Comment polling no longer puts the reviewer’s name and email in the URL.
• Visitors without a review link cannot trigger client-opened notifications.

Update the free Reviso plugin first, then Reviso Pro, so both show 1.6.6. If an earlier version dropped archive selections, reselect those archives and save; the update cannot recover selections that were never saved.

The Reviso team

A fix for reviews that cover archive pages. If you add custom post type archives, or category and taxonomy archives, to a review, this one is for you.

Reviews and archives

• A review can now include more than one archive page. Before, only the first archive you picked was saved, and any others un-ticked themselves the moment you saved the scope. Every archive you select now stays selected, and a review that mixes pages and archives keeps all of them. Updating applies a small database change automatically.

The Reviso team

A fix-first release. The headline is a data-loss fix for reviews that cover more than one page, and Reviso now fully supports Bricks 2.4. If you run multi-page reviews or build in Bricks, update as soon as you can.

Reviews and scope

• Your selected pages can no longer be dropped from a review when you save its scope. If a save did not carry the page list, Reviso now leaves the existing pages exactly as they were instead of clearing them, so changing an unrelated setting such as the expiry date is always safe. This also covers reviews that mix pages and archive pages.

Bricks 2.4

• Reviso is fully compatible with Bricks 2.4. The Reviso toolbar button and feedback panel keep working through the new builder’s toolbar and panel changes, and stay in place when you switch to preview mode.

On the review page

• On phones, the feedback panel and its controls now fit the screen instead of running off the edge, so your clients can review on mobile.
• Reviewers can change mode from the keyboard on the live page: press V to browse, C to comment, and S to suggest.

Security and privacy

• Guest screenshot uploads are now tied to the specific review they belong to, not just the page, matching how the rest of a guest’s actions are already scoped.

Under the hood

• Reviso adds a standard generator meta tag naming its version, the same way WordPress core does. White label hides it, and a filter removes it.
• The browser console stays quiet during screenshot capture on pages that use images from another domain.

The Reviso team

A reliability and privacy release. If you run reviews for more than one client on the same pages, or you use archive pages or suggested edits, this one is for you.

Security and privacy

• Guests can now only read, comment on, reply to and apply suggestions within the review they were actually invited to. That includes email-restricted reviews, which now always need the invited person’s own sign-in link.
• Reply emails show the conversation for context but never include your team’s internal notes, and a client’s “view the thread” button takes them back into their review rather than to the builder.
• Revoking one quick-share link no longer signs out other reviewers who still have access to the same page.

Reviews and archives

• Archive pages you add to a review stay in the review, even if a category is empty for a while or you save an unrelated change such as the expiry date. Clearing them on purpose still works.
• Archive-only and mixed page and archive reviews now open their full checklist, and single-page review links work with WordPress’s default Plain permalinks.
• Creating an email-restricted review now shows the invitee fields straight away and stops you saving one without a valid invitee.

Suggested edits

• New text suggestions on unstyled Bricks elements can now be applied, and when two elements hold identical text the change lands on the one your client picked.
• Accepting a suggested edit inside the Bricks builder now updates the page you are editing, so saving afterwards can no longer put the old text back. If you have unsaved builder changes, we ask you to save first before applying.
• “Accept and apply” now handles everyday text with non-breaking spaces, ampersands and curly quotes, and keeps links and bold formatting intact.
• When a suggestion lives in a shared Bricks template, we name the template instead of just saying auto-apply is unavailable.
• Suggestions now capture a screenshot and remember where they were made, the same way comments do.

Pins and the feedback panel

• Pins stay where you left them when the thing they point at is hidden (an inactive slide, a closed tab or accordion, or something hidden at that screen size), and they stay visible in Browse mode.
• The feedback panel moves back into view on its own after you resize the window.
• Opening a comment left on mobile or tablet hands Bricks’ own viewport switcher back to you straight away.
• Comments on elements with no text or id (a section, image or divider) no longer show as “Element removed”.

Notifications

• Comment emails say which part of the page a comment was left on and open straight on that comment.
• The “ready for your review” email counts only the comments your client left on that review, not your team’s notes or another review sharing the page.

Pro, licences and white label

• A temporary outage of our licence or trial servers no longer locks a paying or trialling site out of its reviews. We only act on a real answer from the server.
• Approval certificates show your own brand, not “Reviso”, when white label is on.
• Reverting an approval puts the page back into review everywhere it appears, and approving a page shared by two clients records the approval on the right review only.

The Reviso team

• New: Category and custom taxonomy archives can now be reviewed. They appear in the page picker alongside your pages, and an Entire Website review includes them automatically, so a taxonomy landing page is no longer the one part of the site a client cannot comment on.
• New: Copy a link to a single comment. “Copy link” in any comment’s menu sends a client straight to the one you mean, opening the review, finding the page and highlighting the comment.
• New: A setup checklist on the Reviso screen that knows how far you have actually got. One step at a time, each ticked off by looking at your site rather than asking you, and gone for good once you finish.
• New: More events for automations (Agency). Send a webhook or Slack message when a comment is edited, deleted, changes status, gets a reaction, or has a screenshot attached. All off until you switch them on.
• Fixed: Archives added to a review disappeared as soon as you saved it, and opening an archive first showed the bare site with no Reviso on it.
• Fixed: Comment times were wrong unless your database ran on UTC. A comment left a minute ago could say “12 hours ago”.
• Fixed: An anti-spam plugin on your site could block your clients’ comments, leaving them with only “Something went wrong”. Reviso now spots the most common cause and offers to fix it in one click.
• Improved: The trial-ended notice only turns red if something of yours has actually stopped working, and you can hide it for a week.
• Improved: The review dashboard no longer borrows the site’s heading fonts, so it looks the same on every site.

Heads up: white-label is now part of Agency. If you are already using it on a Pro licence, nothing changes. Your site keeps it. New Pro sites will see the “Powered by Reviso” credit; Agency removes it.

• New: Choose who sees a comment before you post it. Every comment now says whether it is internal or visible to the client, and you can switch it as you type, so generating a review link no longer takes your team out of internal mode.
• New: Outstanding feedback is grouped by page, and each page shows who has reviewed it, so you can see at a glance where a review has got to.
• New: Local access (Agency). Point your own AI agent at your site with a WordPress application password and read feedback or apply edits without anything passing through Reviso Cloud. Off by default. Built for agencies whose clients cannot have feedback leave their own server.
• Improved: Screenshots now show what the reviewer was actually looking at. The image is the frame that was on their screen rather than a window centred on the click, sticky headers and floating bars appear where they saw them, and a paused hero video no longer comes out as a black rectangle.
• Improved: Errors tell you what to do next. A comment that fails to save says your text is safe, a screenshot that fails says the comment still saved, and paywalled features explain which plan includes them instead of only refusing.
• Improved: Comment screenshots and attachments can no longer be listed by anyone if your host has directory browsing switched on, and approval certificates now use an unguessable address and clean up after themselves.
• Fixed: Share links could expire early. On some servers a link with hours left already read as expired, and any link set to expire sooner than the server’s UTC offset never worked at all.
• Fixed: Review pages showed the wrong closing date, and could show yesterday’s date to a client whose link was perfectly valid.
• Fixed: Reviso Cloud confirmation links reported “Link expired” for anyone whose email passes through a security scanner, because the scanner opened the link before they could.
• Fixed: Reviso Cloud sent a confirmation email only for the first site on an account, and the dashboard could error when re-checking a site’s readiness.
• Fixed: Archive links in the floating panel keep their review session, and archives now appear on the reviewer overview alongside pages.
• Fixed: Pins reported the wrong device, unread comments no longer carry a stray border, opening a comment clears its unread dot, and the accent colour keeps readable contrast inside Bricks and Elementor.
• Fixed: Sharing a review link now produces a proper preview card instead of picking up whichever page title it happened to find.

• New: Unread markers. Comments you have not seen carry a dot and bold name, clear when you open them, and can be marked unread again from the comment menu. Read state is per person, so a teammate reading a comment does not clear it for you.
• New (Pro): Manage settings across every site from Reviso Cloud. Set your branding, notification recipients, coalescing and integrations once, and connected sites follow. It is opt-in per setting, so anything you leave unmanaged stays under each site’s own control.
• New: Filter the review picker by status, and load more items per type, so building a review on a large site no longer means scrolling a wall of checkboxes.
• New (Pro): The reviewer dashboard shows outstanding feedback beside your pages, so you can reply and resolve without opening each page.
• Improved: Colour coding is consistent everywhere. Open is amber, in review is blue, and resolved, approved and reviewed are green, including the comment status menu that previously showed Resolved in grey.
• Improved: Tested with WordPress 7.1, including the always-iframed block editor.
• Fixed: The Reviewed status now updates in the page switcher and after you mark a page reviewed, instead of only on the dashboard.
• Fixed: Replies could be filed against the wrong review and disappear from the reviewer’s view. A reply now always follows its parent comment.
• Fixed: Long approver emails no longer squash the item title in the admin table, and the audit log wraps properly again.

• New: Suggest mode (propose wording changes right on the page) is on by default, and now works for internal team notes on any page, not just review links.
• Improved: Suggestions are smoother. A new one scrolls into view as you make it, accepting shows an “Applied!” confirmation, rejecting restores the original wording, and Accept/Reject only appear while a suggestion is still open.
• Improved: The quick-review panel shows who gets notified on one tidy line, with an Edit shortcut to the review (Pro).
• Improved (Pro): Applied suggestions resolve the real text even when a page optimiser strips Bricks element IDs, and applied edits purge common page caches so they show immediately.
• Fixed: Opening a review on pages with smooth scrolling or scroll animations (Lenis, GSAP) could freeze the browser and use a lot of memory. Pin tracking is now event-driven and stays smooth.
• Fixed: The notify email set when creating a single-page review is now saved, minimising the panel no longer jumps it across the screen, and pressing “c” while editing a suggestion no longer switches modes.

• New: Suggest edits on the page. Reviewers propose new wording right where it sits, like a tracked change, and your team applies it with one click (applying edits to Bricks is a Pro feature). Choose per review whether a client can apply their own suggestions.
• New: The internal feedback button now works on listing and archive pages, the blog index and search results, not just single pages, so your team can leave private notes anywhere on the site.
• New: Whole-site reviews now group pages by type in the reviewer’s page list, so a large review reads as a tidy set of groups.
• Improved: Minimise the feedback panel and keep commenting, so it never covers the page. It also opens beside the spot you click and remembers where you drag it.
• Improved: Choose whether clients see who a comment is assigned to, and hovering Finish and notify now lists exactly who will be emailed.
• Improved: Webhooks now carry a comment’s visibility, assignee, attachments and screenshot, plus the page context for notes left on archive pages.
• Fixed: Thorough reviewers are no longer briefly blocked after a burst of feedback, review links that returned Not found after a site move now repair themselves, plus panel and layout polish.

• Fixed: creating a review from the New review screen could fail on the final step with a network error. Creating single-page and multi-page reviews from the review screen works again.
• Improved: if a review cannot be saved, the screen now shows the specific reason instead of a generic error.

• Fixed: The admin-bar “Loading quick review…” panel could spin forever on some themes (notably Divi). It now loads reliably wherever the admin bar appears, regardless of how the theme orders its scripts.
• Fixed (page caching): On sites using W3 Total Cache, reviewers could be served a cached copy of the page without the feedback overlay, so a share link looked like it did nothing. Active review sessions now bypass W3 Total Cache’s page cache correctly.
• Improved: Broader full-page-cache compatibility for reviewer sessions, covering W3 Total Cache, WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache, Cache Enabler and SiteGround Optimizer.

• New: A review can now close itself to new comments once the client marks it finished, with a one-click reopen whenever you need it.
• Fixed (Elementor): The feedback toolbar, pins and comment box could be hidden inside the Elementor editor. They now appear correctly again.

Works with both the Bricks and Elementor maintenance modes, and the site stays private to the public: only your valid review links get through.

• Fixed: On sites running sliders, auto-rotating tabs or other scripts that trigger clicks automatically, the comment box could jump to the top-left corner. Reviso now responds only to genuine clicks, so it stays where you put it.

The free plugin is now approved and hosted on the WordPress.org plugin directory – install it from your dashboard, with automatic updates. As part of the approval we restructured the free/Pro split: everything paid now lives entirely in the Pro add-on, and client approvals (timestamped sign-off records + approval emails) are confirmed free, forever – only the PDF certificate is Pro. Also new and free: “Coalesce bursts”, which batches rapid-fire comment notifications into a single email.

Licence management and white-label admin tooling now ship entirely inside Pro, plus compatibility updates. Requires the free plugin 1.0.6+.
